National Racquetball Association of the Deaf 

On February 18, 1983, the National Racquetball Association of the Deaf, (NRAD) was founded. Jim Fleming, Peter Pedula, Steve Horwich, Jim Jones, Charles Martin, Jeff Dichter and a few others had a meeting to make plans for the very first National Tournament of the Deaf on April 27-29, 1984. The West Suburban Association of the Deaf In Palatine, Illinois hosted the First Annual National Racquetball Tournament of the Deaf.

The Constitution and By-Laws of NRAD were established April 19, 1985.
